So you think you might like to join this society Let’s see if we can persuade you!

As well as being able to attend the Society’s regular Track & Pond Days, joining allows the member to use the facilities of the Club site on the western outskirts of Cowes, known as Broadfields. Provided certain important safety criteria are met, this can be at any time, whether it’s to run a boat on the pond, a locomotive on the 3½in/5in g. raised track, or the 5in/7¼” ground level track

If powered by steam, such models must be tested by the Club’s ‘in house’ Boiler Inspectors and a widely accepted Boiler Test Certificate to Southern Federation standards issued. These are current for one year and are available only to paid-up members.

Members also receive our quarterly newsletter ‘The Vectimod’ which outlines the happenings in the Society.

Membership is not restricted to model makers resident on the Isle of Wight. We have a number of regular visitors, often members of mainland Societies, who choose to be full IWMES members and pay the modest subscription we ask.

If you live on the Island it couldn’t be easier! Go along to a couple of their ‘Open Days’, which are held at Broadfields on the first Saturday of every month. 14:00 – 16:00hrs. There’s normally a ‘hive-of-activity’ going on and you’ll be able to soak up the friendly atmosphere and talk to current members who will be pleased to tell you all about the Society. You’ll also be able to pick up a membership form from the Secretary.

If you wish to apply for membership AND currently live on the mainland please contact the Hon Secretary via email, click HERE, who will be glad to send a PDF copy by return e-mail. When completed the Form should be returned to the Hon. Secretary with a cheque for the relevant amount detailed below. Applications are considered once a month at each committee meeting and application does NOT guarantee acceptance.
